THRiVE offers Body gem analysis.
For everyone who's ever wondered how many calories they need to consume to lose or maintain weight, THRiVE is pleased to offer metabolic testing. With the addition of the Body gem, we are now able to measure your unique resting metabolic rate, using technology once reserved for hospitals, in a simple 10 minute breath test. Testing your metabolic rate will determine exactly how many calories you may eat and still lose or maintain weight. No more charts, averages or guessing.
Research has demonstrated that Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) can vary substantially even among individuals that are similar in height, weight, age, and gender. A recent study indicated individuals participating in a weight management program and had their nutrition plan developed from measured RMR compared to estimated RMR, experienced nearly double the weight loss. Moreover, the American Dietetic Association's guidelines for adult and pediatric weight management recommends using indirect calorimetry (IC), such as the BodyGem to measure a person's metabolic needs when developing individualized nutrition plans.
